Jennifer Glickel, AB’08

  • Director of Business Development, New York Daily News

New York, New York

Jennifer’s enthusiasm for all things UChicago built comradery and friendships even before she set foot in Hyde Park. From her time as a leader with the Senior Class Gift Committee to the present day she has been a tireless advocate for University of Chicago alumni. Upon graduation, Jennifer moved to New York City and joined the Alumni Club of NYC as a board member. Over the past nine years she has held various leadership roles for the club, including Phoenixphest co-chair, Programming Committee co-chair, and, most recently, Engagement and Outreach co-chair. Her current role makes best use of her willingness to gladly engage alumni within her peer group as well as throughout the entire spectrum of the alumni community. Jennifer commits her time, mind, and heart to her club activities and is credited with recruiting many of the current volunteers in the region.

Additionally, Jennifer has acted as a leader for her class reunions, and has been a co-chair for the Participate NYC events promoting alumni spirit and participation. Jennifer not only gives back to the University, but brings people to the University. She has stayed engaged every year since graduation, lending her energy, enthusiasm, spark, and great sense of humor to all alumni-related matters and activities. Jennifer takes delight when a shared interest or mutual experience related to UChicago is revealed, and she leverages those connections to foster volunteer relationships and connect alumni back to the University.
