2017: Young Alumni Service Award

Joe Anzalone, AB’04

  • Attorney, Federal Government

Northern Virginia

Joe Anzalone, AB’04, is the President of the Alumni Club of Virginia, a club founded thanks to his resourcefulness, inclination for innovation, and a commitment to building and levering strong partnerships. As an alumni volunteer, Joe began addressing questions and opportunities to meaningfully reach unengaged alumni populations, and to help the Alumni Association meet its major engagement goals. His grassroots efforts toward an Alumni Club of Virginia soon evolved into recruiting a diverse group of board members representing different regions, degrees and class years, industries, and more. He was proactive and communicative, and solicited partnership with the Alumni Club of DC so as not to conflict with but to complement its existing work.

Before his tenure as President of the Alumni Club of Virginia, Joe volunteered for the Alumni Club of Washington, DC, serving as Program Chair and Vice President. Additionally, he has held leadership roles for Phoenixphest DC and Participate Chicago, and supported the alumni efforts of the Law Affinity Group and the Institute of Politics.
