Harper Lecture FAQs


In addition to online registration, we are happy to take your registration by phone: 773.702.7788.

Reservations are due one week prior to the event. In addition, reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and are not guaranteed until your payment has been received and processed.

Updates and Cancellations

Harper Lectures may be rescheduled, postponed, or canceled by the Alumni Association due to low registration counts, weather, unavailability of volunteers/event hosts/speakers, or conflicts of any kind. If the event is canceled, registrants will receive a full refund. If the event is postponed, registrants will have the option to transfer registration to the new date of the rescheduled Harper Lecture or receive a full refund.

Refund Requests

If you wish to request a refund for an event registration, you must do so in writing no fewer than five (5) business days prior to the scheduled date of the event. Refund requests not meeting these criteria cannot be honored. Please send requests via email to harperlectures@uchicago.edu.
