Harper Lecture FAQs


In addition to online registration, we are happy to take your registration by phone: 773.702.7788.

Reservations are due one week prior to the event. In addition, reservations are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and are not guaranteed until your payment has been received and processed.

Updates and Cancellations

Harper Lectures may be rescheduled, postponed, or canceled by the Alumni Association due to low registration counts, weather, unavailability of volunteers/event hosts/speakers, or conflicts of any kind. If the event is canceled, registrants will receive a full refund. If the event is postponed, registrants will have the option to transfer registration to the new date of the rescheduled Harper Lecture or receive a full refund.

Refund Requests

Due to planning purposes, please know that events sponsored by the Alumni Association have fixed costs and we are not able to offer refunds with less than one week's notice. If you need to cancel your registration for an event, you must submit a refund request and include your registration confirmation number or the details of the event for which you've registered (including city and date) by emailing uchicagoalumniassociation@uchicago.edu or calling the Alumni Association at 773.702.2150.
