The Odyssey Scholarship Society recognizes leadership donors who make an annual gift of $25,000 or more to the University of Chicago’s Odyssey Scholarship Program,* providing immediate support for current students.

The Odyssey Scholarship Program removes financial obstacles to a UChicago education for talented students who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend. The program has transformed the lives of more than 3,800 students and their families to date, and embodies the University’s commitment to a more equitable society.

The Odyssey Scholarship Program was established in 2007 through a $100 million gift—then the largest in University history—and furthered by a $50 million gift and challenge from Harriet Heyman, AM’72, and her husband, investor Sir Michael Moritz. Through the support of alumni and friends, Odyssey has grown to fund more than just financial aid: it provides students access to study abroad programs, mentoring, internships, and more.
